What’s your role and how long have you been at Innovative?
I’m an editorial assistant, and I started my role in late June 2025 after transitioning from local journalism. It’s been almost one year and time has flown by.
What’s your favorite memory from Innovative?
This was my first time in a remote professional job, so when I found out that we have a sticker mail exchange periodically, I was excited to connect more with my coworkers. I remember in the first week, when I said I loved stickers and it was my guilty pleasure, one of the editors, Rae, was like “OH YOU’LL FIT RIGHT IN!!!” Finding a group that makes you feel comfortable sharing your interests is important, and I’m grateful to find that in the Innovative team.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
It can be challenging when we get in our busy seasons, because there are a lot of publications that come in at once. It’s a juggling act to prioritize tasks.
When you’re not working, what can you be found doing?
I’ve always enjoyed storytelling, whether that’s through writing or reading. I love to read, and I also keep a journal. After the pandemic, I picked back up crafty hobbies, especially junk journaling/scrapbooking. It’s a fun way to remember memories and be creative. On the weekends, you’ll find me exploring events around my hometown in Orlando, meeting up with friends for a chat, and spending time with my boyfriend and family.
What movie, television or book character represents you the best?
Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Besides loving books, I always want to help others and see the best in people. Despite her circumstances, Belle found adventure and was loyal, courageous and compassionate through it all, which I try to do.
What’s a song you currently have on repeat?
I’m really loving three songs from RAYE’s new album. Click Clack Symphony (feat. Hans Zimmer), Winter Woman and The WhatsApp Shakespeare.
What are some of your favorites (show, movie, book, musical artist, game, etc.)?
Shows: Manifest, Bridgerton, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Once Upon a Time
Movies: Speed, Beauty and the Beast, Ever After, Captain America, Mulan, Attack of The Clones, Empire Strikes Back
Books: Shatter Me series, Divergent series, The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
Musical artists: Jonas Brothers (I saw them perform at my first concert ever last year, and it was such a surreal experience!), Ellie Goulding, Loreen, Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue, One Republic
“Brittany’s been here for just about a year, and she’s been an amazing addition to our team! She always jumps in to help anyone who’s busy, just to make their lives a little easier. I’ve also gotten to know Brittany outside of work with a writing group we started. She’s so supportive and is always so fun to chat with. She also has infinite stories and knowledge about Disney World, which is always so fun to hear!”
