What’s your role and how long have you been at Innovative?
I’m a graphic designer and have been at Innovative for about a year and a half.
What’s your favorite memory from Innovative?
Definitely our book club that our editor Jessica started last year! It’s led to some great reads and even better conversations.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Something that’s challenging is keeping up with new technologies and trends. There’s always new workflows to learn, updates to software and trends to keep an eye on. It’s never boring!
When you’re not working, what can you be found doing?
Usually, you can find me hiking with my husband and our dog or with a book in hand, but I also enjoy board games, kayaking, swimming, camping, aqua scaping (gardening/landscaping in aquariums) and drawing.
What movie, television or book character represents you the best?
Hmm, maybe Samwise Gamgee! I love the outdoors and often prefer to stay out of the direct spotlight but am also loyal and protective towards those close to me. I’m also always down for an adventure.
What’s a song you currently have on repeat?
My go-to is whatever Spotify adds to my Daylist! I’m constantly switching it up and looking for new artists.
What are some of your favorites (show, movie, book, musical artist, game, etc.)?
Shows: Arrow, Supernatural, Psych and The Office
Books: The Inheritance Cycle, The Stormlight Archives and the Realm of the Elderlings
“I feel so lucky to have Jess as a coworker, and I absolutely adore working alongside her with my clients’ publications. We like to call ourselves the Dream Team, ha! Our workflows and communication styles are really similar, so working with her helps make things so seamless. Our workloads can be crazy because we’re always working to give our clients the best we can, and we balance a lot of priorities and deadlines. But working with Jess helps me keep my head on straight.
“We’ve grown to be great coworkers over the year and a half we’ve worked together, and she’s taught me A LOT about editing and design. We’ve even become pen pals because I couldn’t thank her enough over Slack and email.”
