What’s your role and how long have you been at Innovative?
I’ve been working as the sales manager for three years but spent 13 years as part of our sales team, so 16 years total. I remember being the baby of the office — now not so much!
What’s your favorite memory from Innovative?
There was that time I accidentally bought decaf for the office and inadvertently caused myself and a few coworkers a rough couple of days. Needless to say, they were not happy with me but we can laugh about it now.
Also, the day in 2012 when the Mayan calendar called for the end of the world, our now VP came running into the sales area singing, “It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine!”
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
I’m a bit of a people pleaser, and I take it to heart when someone is not happy. It means a lot to me to make things right, and my job calls for putting out fires and giving support to others in many ways. If I’m not careful, I can take things personally and get drained.
When you’re not working, what can you be found doing?
I enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family. I’m late to the workout game but have increased my appreciation for it and make time each week to exercise.
As I get older though, I really appreciate sitting with my husband on our double reclining loveseat with our favorite beverage and watching movies or episodes of old shows we like. Very relaxing!
What movie, television or book character represents you the best?
This is tough; I relate to Andy in The Devil Wears Prada. I desire to be fashionable but frequently need help, not as confident as I would like to be but I definitely work hard and have skills, I really love rising to the occasion and being successful at something no one thought I could do. Probably why this is one of my favorite movies.
What’s a song you currently have on repeat?
“Head to Toe” by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam
What are some of your favorites (show, movie, book, musical artist, game, etc.)?
Song: “I Love Rock & Roll” Joan Jett
Movie: Old fave, Anne of Green Gables; new fave, The Devil Wears Prada
Book: Jane Eyre
“Kelly is a valuable asset to the team and company. She is attentive, poised and well balanced. Her hard work, perseverance, and expertise as sales manager have made a significant impact on our success.”
